Tiny home set to make a big impact on the community

In an inspiring display of community spirit and craftsmanship, students from the Riddet boarding house at St. Peters School in Cambridge have channelled their energies into a project that exemplifies the power of young minds committed to making a difference.
Over the past year, these dedicated students have constructed a tiny home, not just as a practical learning exercise but with a philanthropic vision in mind. This project culminates in a charity auction organised by Property Brokers Cambridge, where all proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army.
The journey began as a practical challenge but soon transformed into a mission to contribute positively to the community. The tiny home, which now stands proudly on display at Hautapu Sports Grounds, is a testament to the students' hard work, creativity, and commitment.
Before the auction, the home is open for public viewing, offering everyone a chance to witness the meticulous craftsmanship and thoughtful design put into every inch of the build.
Alan Copeman, Cambridge Branch & Commercial Manager at Property Brokers, expressed his admiration for the students' effort, stating, "These students have built more than just a home; they've shown what they can achieve with hard work and the right support. We are proud to help them make a difference by hosting this charity auction."
This project is more than a building exercise; it's a transformative experience that teaches valuable skills and instils a sense of responsibility and community service in young individuals.
The Salvation Army, known for its extensive humanitarian work, will be the beneficiary of all proceeds from the auction. This choice of charity underscores the students' and Property Brokers' commitment to supporting vital community services.
"The Salvation Army performs incredible work within our community, and we are thrilled to support their efforts through this project. We invite everyone to join us in supporting this meaningful cause," added Copeman.
The auction is set to be a highlight of Property Brokers' annual Bid Day Out Auction Event, taking place on the 2nd of April. This day promises not only to be a significant charitable event but also a celebration of what can be achieved when a community comes together to support a noble cause.
The anticipation for the auction began stirring weeks prior, with extensive marketing efforts kicking off in mid-March to ensure maximum engagement and participation from the community.
Residents of Waikato and beyond are presented with a unique opportunity to acquire a one-of-a-kind home crafted with care and precision by the next generation of builders and philanthropists.
