Tall Poppy first real estate agency certified as 100% Kiwi

Tall Poppy is New Zealand’s first real estate agency certified 100% Kiwi owned and operated by Buy NZ Made, as a new trademark for homegrown services is launched.

First introduced in 1988, the Buy New Zealand-Made certification is a sign to consumers of high-quality NZ-made products. The highly respected and rigorously tested trademark was extended to services in 2024, with Tall Poppy announced as the first and only real estate agency to achieve it. As well as being 100% locally owned and operated, 100% of its profits also stay in Aotearoa to support Kiwis and local communities across the country.

Samson Phommachak from Buy NZ Made says that by introducing a trademark for services, they want to help Kiwi companies stand apart.

“Many Kiwi-owned companies now compete with overseas-owned operators, so this is an easy way for consumers to know their hard-earned money isn’t flying off into international pockets, it’s being reinvested back into New Zealand.

“Tall Poppy’s accreditation will likely resonate with homeowners and buyers as they become more aware of their true impact when they support local,” he says. 

Samson says the same strict verification process has been applied for the ‘NZ Service’ trademark, so consumers have the same level of trust they do in the ‘Buy New Zealand Made’ certification.
