Property Brokers Hawke's Bay Charity Auction Raises More Than $62,000 for Charity and Community Fund

In its 18th year, the Property Brokers Hawke's Bay Charity Auction achieved remarkable success, raising over $62,000 in contributions for the Cancer Society, Hawke's Bay Rescue Helicopter, and the Property Brokers Hawke's Bay Community Fund.

Held on the evening of Thursday, October 5th, in Hastings, this milestone event drew an enthusiastic crowd of 400 attendees.

Renowned for its exceptional selection of auction items and experiences, this year's charity auction left no room for disappointment.

The evening featured a total of 46 lots and an additional 35 items in the silent auction, guaranteeing an engaging and entertaining experience for all participants.

Property Brokers Managing Director, Guy Mordaunt, expressed his satisfaction with the event's evolution over the years, stating,

"It's truly special to witness people uniting to raise essential funds for some of the most vulnerable members of our community. 18 years ago, the inaugural Property Brokers Hawke's Bay Charity Auction was an impromptu gathering in the carpark of our Hastings office, which was once an old house.

Today, it has evolved into an iconic event on the Hawke's Bay calendar. We take immense pride in our team's efforts and the unwavering support of the Hawke's Bay community."

The spirited auction was hosted by Mordaunt, Hawke's Bay Regional Manager Joe Snee, Napier Area Manager Grant Bailey, and Residential Sales Consultant Kevin Waggs, who animatedly led the bidding, infusing laughter and excitement throughout the evening.

Snee applauded the event's success, stating, "It was yet another triumphant occasion; hundreds converged at the Toitoi Hawke's Bay Arts and Events Centre in Hastings to enjoy themselves and make generous bids.

This fantastic outcome wouldn't have been possible without the dedicated efforts of the Property Brokers team, our generous sponsors, supporters, and the wonderful Hawke's Bay community, who opened their hearts and wallets to support these noble causes."

The auction showcased an extraordinary array of items, including a Squire by Fender electric guitar autographed by New Zealand music icon Sir Dave Dobbyn, alluring getaways, a framed golf shirt with Michael Campbell's signature, a David Trubridge light, a golf weekend escape in Kinloch, and more.

Mordaunt and Snee led the auction, with Waggs serving as the Master of Ceremonies throughout the evening.

Among the crowd's cherished items were a painting titled "Sold!" by Robyn Bastin, three bottles of the prestigious 2013 vintage Craggy Range wine, a voucher for a waka experience aboard Te Matau a Maui in Ahuriri for up to twenty people, a case of Alpha Domus Beatrix Sparkling Rose, and other items.

Various experiences, artworks, and wines also garnered significant attention.

The Property Brokers Hawke's Bay Charity Auction remains a cornerstone of support for local charitable and community causes, leaving a lasting positive impact on the Hawke's Bay region.
