Harcourts Auctioneers excite at the 2025 REINZ New Zealand Auctioneering Championships

The past two days saw an exciting display of talent as top property auctioneers from across New Zealand competed in the prestigious REINZ New Zealand Auctioneering Championships in Auckland.

Celebrating its 25th consecutive year, this competition continues to highlight the nation’s best auctioneers.

Harcourts had a strong presence at this year’s event, with Tama Emery from Harcourts New Age – Papakura securing the runner-up position in the Rising Star Division. In the Open Division, Steph Bradley from Harcourts Team Group – Wellington also finished as the runner-up.

Both auctioneers demonstrated outstanding skill and talent and we are proud to congratulate them on their remarkable achievements.

In the Premier Division, Harcourts’ Mark McGoldrick from Harcourts Monarch Real Estate - Hamilton earned third place. The competition was fierce, with five finalists battling for the coveted title of NZ Auctioneering Champion.

While Harcourts did not secure the top spot in their divisions, the strong representation by Emery, Bradley and McGoldrick exemplifies the immense talent within our organisation.

Bryan Thomson, Managing Director of Harcourts, expressed his pride in the team’s performances, saying, “The incredible efforts of our auctioneers at the REINZ Auctioneering Championships, alongside the impressive debut performances of our rising stars, underscore the exceptional talent within Harcourts.

We are incredibly proud of the success we’ve achieved, with 20 participants from across the country showcasing their auctioneering skills.”

The REINZ competition not only highlights the significance of auctioneering within the real estate industry, but it also reinforces Harcourts’ commitment to auctions as a preferred sales method.

Thomson added, “It’s particularly rewarding to see our auctioneers shine on such a prestigious stage, demonstrating their skill and passion.”

We extend our congratulations to all those who participated and wish all Mark and Tama the best of luck as they now proudly represent New Zealand at the Australasian Auctioneering Championships (AUSTROs) in Adelaide, South Australia, from May 13-15, 2025.

Well done to all who competed and thank you for representing Harcourts with distinction at this year’s REINZ National Real Estate Auctioneering Championships.
